Kundapur: NSS Girl Students of Barkur college go unconscious at Camp
Kundapura, Dec 26 2013: Mystery prevails at the NSS camp site
where 25 girls of Rukmini Shetty Memorial College, Barkur went
unconscious after returning from their cultural programme here at
Rukmini Shetty Memorial College, Barkur, Kota on December 26.
Rukmini Shetty Memorial College, Barkur organised a NSS Annual Special Camp for its NSS Volunteers at Vaddarse Mahalingeshwara Temple where the incident has been reported.
The girls were said to be returning back to their camp residence after attending a cultural programme. Rumors are that some 5-6 miscreants sprayed chloroform on the girls leaving them unconscious. Soon the girls were rushed to the local hospital and are undergoing treatment.
The camp officer claims that the girls were scared of some men there and went unconscious but local say that so many girls cannot go unconscious unless some chemical is sprayed upon them.
Veeranna, Camp Officer speaking to mangaloren.com said that 95 students of Rukmini Shetty Memorial College have participated in the camp. Among 95 students, 49 are women and 46 are men participating in the camp. The camp was inaugurated on December 21 and will conclude on December 27.
The students had organized a cultural programme on December 21. The girls were returning back to their camp at the Government High School Vaddarse. Some unknown persons are said to have created fear in the girls which left 25 of them go unconscious. Soon the girls were admitted to Government Hospital Kota and N R Acharya Hospital Kundapur.
The camp is continuing as usual and will conclude tomorrow, December 27.
Dr Boralingaiah MB IPS visited the spot and has instructed the Kota Police to investigate the case.
