Udupi: RANJITHA MURDER - District Police Arrests Accused Yogish



Udupi, NOV 30 2103: It is now learnt that Yogish was hiding in the forest area near the Sea View resort Malpe from three days without food. When Yogsih came out of the forest asking for food in the local dhaba, the dhaba owner informed the presence of Yogish to the police.


With that information, more than 80 policemen with the help of locals started combing the area and finally nabbed Yogesh on November 30, afternoon.


Janardhan, a local was injured in the operation and has been admitted to the Government Hospital Udupi. Yogish has also been taken to the Government Hospital for preliminary medical examination.

The Police Department amidst pressure from various groups successfully arrested Yogish. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Boralingaiah MB, SP of Udupi, DySP Prabhudev Mane, Udupi Sub-Division, CPI Arun Kumar, CPI Maruthi Nayak, PSI Madhu, PSI Ravikumar A along with other police personnel.

Yogish who was absconding after killing 21-year-old Ranjitha was arrested by the district police in Kadekar here on November 30.
On November 27, Yogish from Kadekar had stabbed and killed Ranjitha for refusing his proposal to marry him. Eventhough Ranjitha was rushed to the hospital, she failed to respond to treatment and breathed her last on the same day. Since then Yogesh was absconding.
The district police after intensifying their hunt for the culprit, on November 29, found the bicycle which Yogish used to flee from the spot near the Malpe Beach. On obtaining more information, the police formed teams and continued their search.
On November 30, the police succeeded in nabbing the culprit from Kadekar forest area where he was hiding since November 27. Soon after the arrest Yogish was taken to the Government hospital for treatment as he was very weak without food since November 27.
