Introduction:

Mr Avinav Beloor is a creativist hailing from Kundapura. He is the founder of PIXEL STREAM - A Production house. A B.E Graduate from CEC Bangalore, Software Engineer, an eccentric photographer, a film editor, an outstanding cinematographer and a budding entrepreneur.

Hello Avinav! Tell us something about yourself..

Well. What should I start with? Its always a tougher question to a guy who gets inspired with new things everyday. I am simple guy who just want to go with his dreams. A B.E graduate who took a creative journey. You can call me a Dreamer, Software Engineer, Photographer, Cinematographer, Film Editor, Writer etc. You can just tell a creativist who started his career in Bangalore.

Please let us know about your parents, family, native, schooling.

I am basically from Kundapura. My father is a senior pharmacist in Bhatkal Govt Hospital. He has been serving Karnataka govt from past 30 years. My mother works as chief officer at Life Insurance Corporation from 15 years. They stay in Kundapura. My younger brother is doing engineering in Moodbidiri.
I did my schooling in H.M.M and V.K.R Acharya School in Kundapura, P.U in VJC Kota. Later did my engineering in CEC Bangalore.

Tell us what motivated you to enter this field at such a young age??

Almost everyone wants to do such works that will impress people around them. But not everyone will fall under this. Many a times we should compromise with our dreams. I realized this in very younger age and I didn’t want to be one among them. There begins my creative journey along with my academics.

Very interesting! Well, Who have been your inspiration?

I get inspired with every good thing I see around me. But only some will manage to come with me for next day. Most of the time the people who blame you become your biggest inspiration. Even my life is not an exception.

What is Pixel Stream?

Pixel Stream is one of my dream ventures. Its a production house for a complete network of creative solution like Advertising, Photography, Cinematography, Cinema, Fashion etc. Launched in September 2013. Many innovations are lined up from this.

 

Who are the other helping hands for you at PIXEL STREAM?

I alone thought about these creative concepts and started Pixel Stream in Bangalore. It has many creative and enthusiastic people working for it in every section. Also it has marketing people working in Mangalore, Mysore, Udupi, Manipal and Shimoga.

Great! By the way, Did you do any market research before starting PIXEL STREAM?

Yes! We did market research for some of Pixel Stream’s innovations before starting them.

What does photography means to you?

When I wanted to show people the world I see through my I eyes, I opted Photography as a media to connect them. Photography is an art. More you get technical knowledge and experience on photography, more challenging and beautiful it gets. It keeps you creative and happy.

What inspires you in photography?

Its a beautiful field where you get inspired everyday. It keeps you trendy and creative. It not just keeps your closest ones happy, it brings a smile on others face whom you don’t even know. One such smile is more than enough, you get inspired.

We are very anxious to know how did you enter into the field of Cinematography?

I was always inspired with motion pictures and was learning Cinematography together with Photography. My journey with cinematography started from camcorders to present DSLRs. Always loved to do experiments with motion pictures. Soon I am going to get connected with giant film cameras.

Have you contributed for any movies till now? please specify.

No! I always wanted to learn Filming all alone. And I am doing it till now. Showed less interests in working for others. Some short films written and directed by me are lined up. It starts from Dec 13.

What are the other films/videos have you completed?

I have done some music videos. Also started with a new venture from Pixel Stream called ‘Wedding Films’. A unique and creative presentation of weddings. We have launched our first project and its getting great response everywhere. Also its a new kind of venture in coastal areas like Mangalore and Udupi.

How could you manage your studies with all these innovative stuffs?

Haha! I was always good a studies. My basics were strong.I thank to my parents for this. I was a distinction student in schools and PU. Same continued in engineering. Whatever other stuffs I do, I was regular to my classes. I would love to do post graduation too.

What are your other fields of interest except photography, Cinematography? Do tell us how well you have excelled in them.

Apart from these, I do Film Editing, Grading, Web designing. Film Editing is tougher choice where you need more patience. I was editing videos when I was in 10th and now I have a confidence to edit an entire feature film. I edit and grade wedding films done by PixeI Stream by following the same Feature Film post production work. I write stories and lyrics too. Few of my short films will be shot next month. I am good at playing cricket and table tennis.

What are your dreams and future plans?

There is no end to my dreams. Apart from these creative stuffs, my biggest dream is to start a multiplex chain in my hometown. I am doing research on this, working on requirements and procedures and have confidence that I will start this next 2-3 years.

Awesome! Are you expecting any kinds of support from the government or from the general public?

One good advantage is creative field is your works get noticed to public easily. Word of mouth from public play a major role. Govt. taxes for creative services are high. We want them to minimize.

Are there any special persons whom you really want to thank in this occasion?

I thank my parents for believing in me, supported my dreams. They are most special for me. I thank my friends for cheering me whenever I shared my thoughts.

If you are interested in Photography/Cinematography and want to take it as your profession then you must come with your unique presentation and thoughts. Its getting competitive everyday. Many are quitting their current profession and jumping to this. Learn everyday, be inspired every moment. Love your camera. Nikhil K Kanchan

Nikhil Krishna Kanchan.
A 22 year old extrovert, An Indian Indoor Cricket Team Player and Wicket Keeper, Mr Nikhil hails from Kundapura.

The crowning glory for Nikhil Krishna Kanchan came in the form of selection to represent India in the indoor cricket tournament against Sri Lanka played recently. In the second match on Feb 1, 2013, he was adjudged the Man of the Match.

He did his schooling in Little Rock Indian School-Brahmavar and his PU in Viveka Junior College-Kota. He got his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore Institute of Technology. Currently he is pursuing his Masters in Mechanical engineering in University of Michigan, USA.
He is basically a fun loving guy and like adventurous stuff, love inspiration and inspiring others and a vivid dreamer.

What is this INDOOR CRICKET? How will it differ from conventional cricket?

Indoor cricket is a variant of and shares many basic concepts with cricket. The game is most often played between two teams each consisting of six or eight players.

We have a different board called IISF (Indian Indoor Sports Foundation) and the world body, WICF (World Indoor Cricket Federation).
 
Indoor cricket is hard to master. You gotta play this sport with a different technique. You should be more fit than the conventional cricket players. It is not easy to maintain your stamina in this sport,. You have to be exceptionally trained and have to be fit each time wen you play. This game requires more mental strength. I'm sure that, down the lane, this sport will be a sensation this will also be a revolution like the conventional cricket provided we have support.

What inspired you to get into this field? Who is your role model?

Cricket was running in my family. My maternal uncles back home - Prabhakar Kunder, Rajendra Suvarna, Satish Kunder and Ramesh Kunder - were all diehard and dedicated cricketers who inspired me to take up tennis ball cricket.
They played regular cricket on government school ground in Manoor Padukere ground. They had a formidable, hard-to-beat cricket team called 'Vahini' and the legacy was passed on to me. I credit them with recognizing my talent and supporting me in every way possible.

ROLE MODEL?

Well, It would be Virat Kohli. I like his temperament in the field and the level of maturity he shows.

How well did your parents, school/college and government support you in your journey?

First of all I would like to thank my parents, Krishna and Shantha Kanchan, My uncles and family, My coaches, Pradeep Vaz and Adarsh Naik, my teammatesie;

Dhanush Bhaskar (My captain and one of my best friends, a great leader with incredible cricketing skills, who supports me all along and a guy who is very down to earth.)
Mahesh A S, Yathish Gowda, Bharath Kalkur, Sri Krishna, Abhijeeth Venkatesh, and my manager Milind Punja, and our chairman Ajay Naik, for getting me a chance to represent my country.
 
I am really grateful to my family and college on that note. They supported me in each step, they didn't restrict me in anything. That is the most important thing I suppose, parents must be supportive in whatever the children does which helps his growth as an individual and shouldn't restrict them in doing what they are really good at. Of course academics is important. Academics is not the only thing that a child needs. For his overall development a child must be exposed to sports and other activities.

We dint receive much support from the government. Its like no other sports in India other than the conventional cricket gets highlighted. By supporting all other sports, we can improve the quality of the other sports. I am sure, that if there is enough support, India will be formidable in all the sports.So we would like to see government supporting us in every way possible.We would wan this game promoted all over and get more players playing this sport.

 

How did you get into national cricket team? Any suggestions and tips for aspiring players?

 “Its just that you have to walk an extra mile each time”.

Find your weaknesses, work on it, one day at a time, have patience.
Don’t just practice for the sake of it. Practice to improve yourself. There is lot of difference between skill and talent. Talent is by birth and skill can be mastered by anyone who works towards it. But SKILL has more weight-age than TALENT.
The indoor cricket game is still growing in India and we are getting more quality players. They have to go through hard fitness and practice regimes to move up the next level.

You are something today! Was it easy to reach this stage?

I believe I'm still the same guy and my lifestyle hasn’t changed. I will be “SOMETHING”, when I help people reach their goals.
I wouldn't say it was easy. But I believe, If you love what you do, It wont be hard. I loved what I did. We practiced very well, till 12 in the night. We had an indoor arena in Bangalore which was like 40 km away from my place. We used to travel in 2 hours each time to reach the arena. We all were passionate about this game. We had that fire. So basically, Love what you do or else you will have a very very-very hard time. You will feel each step is hard.

What did you learn from your journey as a Cricketer?

I learnt a lot, I learnt to be more patient, Learnt to control my emotions, Learnt responsibility, Improved my mentality and concentration, Learnt teamwork,coordination and most of all I learnt that there is no luck, if there is, hard work or passion is followed by luck.

Please share any one unforgettable BEST and WORST moments of your journey.

My best moments in this journey and in my entire life is when my name was announced for the series against Sri Lanka which would be my First International match,

It was when I won the man of the match against Srilanka
When I got a chance to play against Australia twice recently.
Another best moment Is when I got to know that Dreams do come true.
I don’t think there is any worst moment in the journey, everything Is a learning experience.I might have had some academical challenges, but that made me more strong. There will be worst moments , actually a lot of those if your mind accepts failure. Otherwise, everything is a learning experience.Its all about attitude.

You'll obviously get chances to meet popular cricketers! Please Highlight your experience of meeting them.

I have practiced with RCB Team in Bangalore and there I had a chance to meet all the players. It was an amazing experience and could see how hard they worked.

Are you expecting any kinds of favors from government or general public which could help you achieve more? Please specify.

Obviously we need government favors in-terms of funding indoor cricket and we need media to pick this up more and spread. We have been trying hard to achieve this.
I want people to learn indoor cricket, Understand it and and play it. We need promotion all over.

What are your other fields of interest except Cricket?

Except cricket I love to play volley ball. I've represented my school and college in volleyball as well. Apart from sports, I love to inspire people, listening to music, reading inspirational books and biographies, spending time with friends also playing games on my laptop. I have got a great bunch of friends and I am grateful to god for that.

DREAM!!! Dream biggg!!! Your dream should excite you and scare you at the same time.

Have a plan, a long term plan and BELIEVE in yourself. Do a little bit everyday towards your dream, and NEVER GIVE UP!!

If you want a change in your life, Take risks and have faith.

Be content and grateful of your current situation. Be grateful for what you have now, and you will see your life change within a very short time. Nothing comes easy, You have to pay the price ie;work hard.

Work wont be hard if you like what you do. Find your purpose and I'm sure you will excel.

Jnanesh Shenoy

Intro:

Kundapur based businessman Jnanesh Shenoy for the past four years has been researching on gold and silver extraction from e waste including mobile phones and computer mother boards.

27 year old Jnanesh Shenoy, a businessman from Kundapur dedicates his weekends on research. Since 2009-10, he has been working on extracting gold from computers and mobile phones and silver from x-ray films. Through his website www.metalminemedia.com, he explains the process of extraction of precious metals from e waste.

A diploma holder in computer Science, and a businessman who runs an electrical and home appliances firm in Kundapur of Udupi district, Shenoy said,”I surfed a lot online about gold and silver. This was when I came across articles on extracting gold or silver from e-waste. I decided to carefully follow their instructions and try them out and have been successful. I reserve my weekends on this and have been doing it in a very small way since 2009. I began with recovering silver from x- ray films and within a year’s time, was able to recover gold.”
Electronic recycling industry is rapidly growing over the years, as the profit margin is expected to be huge. There are several buyers of e-waste online. Also there are several people who are interested to learn how to recover gold and silver from computer parts or other forms of e scrap, so that they can set up their own firm.

Recollecting how it all began, Shenoy said, “I wanted to do something different. The moment I learnt about the technique, especially aquaregia, the process of carefully mixing one part of nitric acid and three parts of hydrochloric acid, which are very corrosive and produce toxic fumes, I approached a local goldsmith for guidance. They practically showed me how to go about it and guided me how to go about it. The quantity of gold retrieved also depends on the technology used. The gold content in the products are reducing with advanced versions of computers. For instance, from about 200 Pentium 4 processors about six grams of pure gold can be extracted. Companies these days using nickel instead of gold, “he said.

Explaining about the procedure, Shenoy said, “I buy e waste from those who collect it, in case of a mother board socket, it takes about 2-3 days to pluck the pins. Once that is done, it is allowed to react with nitric acid for 24 -48 hours. The pins are made of copper with gold plating. Copper gets dissolved in nitric acid and the gold begins to float. The gold plating is separated with the help of a coffee filter or tissue paper. The gold collected is handed over to goldsmiths, who purify the gold. The gold is then sent to the refinery. The goldsmiths generally deduct Rs 20 from the actual cost of gold per gram, “he said.

In India, we only think of gold and silver and forget other precious metals like platinum and palladium. According to an estimate last year, 320 tons of gold and more than 7,500 tons of silver are now used annually to make PCs, cell phones, tablet computers and other new electronic and electrical products worldwide. The business has huge prospects. The government must help in setting up such units. For the time being Shenoy is looking for partnership and researching more on the field.

Tell us something about your parents, childhood, schooling and your career.

I was born in Kundapura. Bhaskar Rao and Padmavathi are my parents. Parents are my first preference in my life. I love them a lot!

I got my primary education in Bellary and completed my bachelors at Bhandarkars' college Kundapura. Right now I'm working for HINDUJA GLOBAL SOLUTIONS

What inspired you to get into this field?

Actually, I didn’t expect that I would become a sportsman!

But when I joined college gym classes, I got to know about my strength. Once I saw one of my senior practicing the lifting and I was greatly impressed by his knacks. So there I decided, "LET ME GIVE A TRY"and I tried also. And there after I continued practicing.

Later, In a college competition I got gold medal!! That doubled my confidence level. Later on, I also got a good trainer, Mr.Prashanth Sherigar who is also from Kundapura. He too is a national level power lifter.

He always said “Don’t try for medals, Try for Records.. I will help you to set them up!”. His words always inspired me to the most. My greatest respect to him! I'm now here because of him.

How well did your College, and Government support you in your journey?

Its sad! But the true fact. The support what I received from my college or the Government was not at all up to the mark!

Even after receiving the medals in International level competitions, I got zero recognition from the State Government. I dreamt of getting a government job considering my achievements. I also applied to many of them but got no fruitful results. Its not only my experience, but its the fact which is happening with most of the talented athletes and sportsmen.

What did you learn from your journey as a weight lifter?

The most important thing I learnt and explored in my journey is a formula to Success!

Yes, According to me:

SUCCESS=( Discipline+Dedication+Concentration+Hard work) x Patience

Discouragements, Leg pulling are very common. I still remember some people who told me that I can't even make a University medal and I really appreciate those..Because, that kind of discouragements helped me reach this stage and achieve  INTERNATIONAL LEVEL MEDAL and GOLD MEDALS IN NATIONAL LEVEL for 6 times!

Please share any one unforgettable moment of your journey.

Whatever I've achieved, it’s not an easy journey. I've faced lot of hurdles in my path. Many a times I though of quitting this line and do something else! But finally I never gave up trying one more time!

In-spite of having lots and lots of problems and hurdles, I attended International Level Competition selection camp. The happiest moment was when I got selected to compete in 1st Asian Unequipped power-lifting championship which was to be held at Coimbatore Tamilnadu and in which I finally got my International Level Medal!

For my International level championship, the total expenditure went around 1.5 lac! I heartily thank all my well-wishers who helped me to manage it.

Are you expecting any kinds of favors form government or general public which could help you achieve more? Please specify

Yes! Support is the crucial thing to achieve anything.
If we get good support from government, public we will definitely achieve more and more.

In our neighboring states, State Government will provide a good job under sports quota and even they'll reward with cash prize which will help the achiever in some or the other way. 
But in Karnataka there are no jobs reserved for Sports persons! I've also applied for cash rewards for my international level medal achievement but still even after a year, there is no progress with that.

I'm also looking for a good sponsor who can sponsor me in my future national and International level championships so that I can take the fame of my state and my country still higher.

First of all, I'd heartily like to thanks my Kundapura people who treated me as their own son and encouraged me throught!

The secret of creativity is knowing how to hide your sources! Don't ever bother about what the people will say, When people talk behind you, it obviously means that you are ahead of them!
Always remember..To walk around with an ego is a bad thing. To have confidence in yourself is a great thing.

A 21 one year old gentlemen is achieving so many things in the field of sports and in turn raising the glory of our district in national levels. He is Mr Srikanth Madhyasth. A B.Com graduate hailing from Kota of Udupi dist. is the person we are talking about!

Srikanth is an amazing 110 meters hurdler who got Junior nationals medal in 2012 at Lucknow. The present record in Fastest 110 meters hurdles at Mangalore University level stands in his name. He also bagged many state gold medals too.

Below is the conversation our team had with him.

1.What inspired you to get into this field?

I loved sports since my childhood. I always gave special preference for Hurdles. I was greatly inspired and moved by Liu Xiang of China.
Liu Xiang is a Chinese 110 meter hurdler. Liu is an Olympic Gold medalist and World Champion. His 2004 Olympic gold medal was the first in a men's track and field event for China

2.Tell us something about parents, childhood and schooling.

Prakash.madhyastha and Geetha P Madhyastha are my parents. My dad runs a Hotel at Kota in Udupi dist. Lakshmikanth is my younger brother.

I got my primary education at Shambhavi School, Gilyaru and completed my high school education at Viveka English medium high school Kota. PU at VJC Kota and finished Bachelors degree in Commerce from Alva's College Moodbidri. Now I'm pursuing PGDCA at Alva's.

3.Were there any major hurdles in your journey as a hurdler?

Off course Yes!!
When I underwent a kidney operation in my high school days, I had to quit all my sports related stuffs. I even faced severe opposition from my parents to resume my practice activities as they were worried about my health. But some how I convinced them and could manage with the rest of the things.

4.What did your journey teach you?

It taught me tonnes of things! It made me to get both good and bad experiences.
I traveled all over India and learnt many new things about the life and life styles of people in the different parts of my country. I learnt how actually is the world outside, how to approach different kinds of people. I also Meet many people and derived a good inspirations from them.

5.What are your dreams and future plans?

My biggest dream is to get into Olympics and represent India. I'm working really hard to get into.

6.Finally, Your message to our readers..

SUCCESS and FAILURES are the two faces of a coin! We all will accept Success readily but we fear, hesitate to accept failures! This should not be done.. We should accept failures.
And one more thing, I've noticed students neglecting sports, most of them think that sports and all are waste and it wont make anything for future..That's completely false! Sports and other co-curricular activities are equally important to curricular activities!
Never ever give up! The most certain way to success is always to to try just one more time..

Introduction:
Gautham Jadugar is a marvelous magician, who had already given more than 1000 magic shows all over Karnataka at his age of 21, he is a good vocalist who participated in Sony Channels' INDIAN IDOL-6, He is even an actor who played lead roles in many dramas, stage plays & even acted in few movies, TV serials as well..!
He is also an acoustic guitarist by passion & a skilled
hypnotist too.

1.What motivated you to enter this field at such a young age?

When I was of 6 years old, my dad took me to a magic show for the first time in Davangere.

I still remember those days..That particular day was wonderful, I was completely stunned to see so many things appear & disappear from the stage from no where.

After that day, I became a die-hard fan of magic shows & I started attending all such shows near by my place, I also purchased lots and lots of magic books and spent years together in training myself.

5 years went off in practice and finally one good day came in my life..

In 8th Grade, I gave my 1st ever magic show in my high school and received fabulous response.

Finally, this is how I started my Magical journey as a Magician.

2.Tell us something about your career as a magician

My career as a magician is filled both good and bad experiences !

I got fame, recognition, responsibility from Magic.

I learnt toughest illusions by my own. Mastering the skill of hypnotism gave me another plus point..

The art of magic is wonderful, but finally..all it depends on how well you present it.
Presentation plays an equal & important role just as the practicing does

Following this formula of PRACTICE+PRESENTATION helped me a lot in achieving greater heights.

It alone made me to give more than 1000 stage shows all over Karnataka and few shows out in many other parts of India.

All most all my programs gave me good experiences and they taught me something new every time.

One of the best experience is that I was blessed by a chance to perform in front of the popular stars of Sandalwood, Devraj and Priyanka during the shooting of a reality show called "Super star of Karnataka".

Well..there are some bad experiences either but they are negligible.

3.We heard that you also have a great interest in music, stage plays etc. Tell us something about the same

The entry with music was unexpected.

I just had a hobby of singing but never exposed.

In 10th grade, one of my neighbor forcefully made me to join vocal music classes, I went to the classes for 9 months and couldn't continue it due to my dad's transfers.

We arrived at Thirthalli, I resumed my studies there only, during my PU Days, I learnt hindustani music, playing keyboard and harmonium.

All these gave me a strong base & helped me as back-ups for participating in Indian Idol-6. After coming back from Indian Idol-6 my interests diverted towards Guitar..

Stage plays are other parts,

Initially I played some small roles in dramas, small roles turned into lead roles & finally got chances to act in Kannada movies like Galipata, Drama.. ,Telefilm named Panchatantrada Kategalu and a TV serial named Madhuvana.

4.Tell us about your Indian Idol journey

When I saw the TV ad of Indian Idol 6 for the first time, I remembered my friend Ganesh who is a popular vocalist in my locality & He had participated in Indian idol 5. We both met & decided to participate in Indian Idol 6..

At Indian Idol Auditions

We applied, luckily we got the passes for our auditions in Mumbai. My parents encouraged & boosted me in every stages of mine..

We participated with good confidence. I passed out the first two rounds of selection and came out in the 3rd round.

Sony team treated us neither good nor bad.

My worst experience was that on the day of audition, we reached the venue at 5am, my number was 728..which means that I was the 728th person of the day to give the audition! :-(

It was horrible..We were made to stand in Sunlight all day long..No food, No water..

After waiting for 17 long hours..My turn came at 10:30pm finally ! 

5.What are your future plans?  

Future Plans? There are many of them actually!

First of all in need to achieve greater heights as a Magician! I want to give international level magic shows!.

I am even planning to have a big magic crew of my own..

And strong thoughts of starting a Music band is also running in my mind.
