Kundapura: Man's Body found in Lake Suspected Drowned during Ganesha Idol immersion

Kundapura, Sep 13: 
A person had drowned in a lake on Wednesday September 11 during the Lord Ganesha's immersion near Kome Government School.
 

The deceased has been identified as Babanna Poojary (56) resident of Parampalli near Kodikanyana.

Babanna Poojary had informed his wife that he would be going to attend the immersion ceremony of Lord Ganesha's Idol on Wednesday, September 11 evening. When he failed to return back home, his wife and relatives searched for him, but were not able to trace him anywhere. On Friday the locals spotted a floating dead body in the Kome Lake and informed the police. Police arriving to the spot identified the body as that of Babanna Poojary.

T Ganapathi Shriyan, President of Zilla Panchayath Health and Education Standing Committee arrived to the spot and helped in pulling the body out of the river. The body has been sent to Kota Hospital for postmortem.

A case has been registered in the Kota Police Station.
