Brahmavar: 17-year-old Boy Dies after Shooting Himself

Udupi, Nov 7 2013: In a shocking incident a youth committed suicide by shooting himself with a rifle in Karje near Brahmavar here on November 7.
The deceased has been identified as Shreyas Shetty (17), son of Suresh Shetty former Grama Panchayat member Karje Brahmavar.

Shreyas Shetty was the student of Vidyodaya College Udupi and was studying in I PUC. On November 7, at around 7.30 a.m, he convinced his parents, that he wanted to borrow the rifle to chase away the monkeys in their farm. But that wasn't true, he wanted the rifle for a different reason-to kill himself.

When the family members heard the rifle being fired, they rushed to the farm, and were shocked to see Shreyas lying dead in the farm. 

However the reason for the suicide is not known. Bramhavar police reached the spot and have registered a case.
