Mangalore: District level sports meet for differently abled inaugurated

Mangalore, Dec 9 2013: 

B. Ramanath Rai, District in-charge minister inaugurated the Dakshina Kannada district level sports meet for special children at at Mangala Stadium on Monday, December 9.

The programme was organized in association with Dakshina Kannada District administration, DK Zilla Panchayat, youth empowerment and department of sports, ‘Sanidhya’, residential school and training center for differently abled children, and sports and cultural academy for differently abled, Bangalore.

After hosting the flag, K. Koragappa Naik, president, DK Zilla Panchayat said that sports meets plays important role in exhibiting the talents of the students. Parents and students should motivate the special children to participate in the sports activities.

Around 220 sports persons from DK, Udupi and Kodagu districts were participated in the different sports. 

Tulasi Maddineni, chief executive officer, DK Zilla Panchayat, Rithesh Shetty, vice president, Asha Thimmappa Gowda, president, education and health standing committee, P. Pashwanath, deputy director, youth empowerment and department of sports, Vasanth Kumar Shetty, administrative officer, Sanidhya residential school and others were present on the occasion.

Lilli Pais, youth empowerment and sports officer welcomed the gathering. Mahabala Marla, president, SCADA proposed vote of thanks.
