Sullia: Master Athlete Parvati from Remote Village Needs Support

Sullia, Dec 2 2013:
Her husband is a daily wage-earner. She, with only SSLC as her educational qualification, works as an office assistant in the KVG Medical College here and is a mother of two children studying in primary classes.

Two years ago, while doing daily wage work, she had got injured with a gash of sickle in her foot. She had been admitted to the KVG hospital for treatment. Ultimately, she joined employment in the same medical college.
While she is a role model for other adults and children in pursuing athletics, she finds it hard to meet the expenses involved in attending a forthcoming state-level sports meet where she hopes to win further laurels.

This is the story of Parvati hailing from Kullampady in Aivernad village in the taluk. In the recently-held district Masters' Athletics Meet in Puttur, she won the first place in 1,500 metres run, first place in 800 metres and first place in 5,000 metres run in the under-30 category. Thus she has qualified to take part in the state-level meet to be soon held in the Kantheerava stadium in Bangalore.

But financial constraint has been a stumbling block on her way to further heights of glory. Sports-lovers and generous donors can help her to overcome it by supporting her financially. This can also ensure success for her in the years to come.
She can be contacted on mobile (+91)  73536 25475.
