Udupi Utsava Inagurated

Udupi, Dec 1 2013:
Sri Laxmivaratheertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math inaugurated the 60-day Udupi Utsav on the Royal Garden ground Kalsanka  here on Sunday, December 1.

Earlier a Rally with traditional folklore was flagged off from Udupi CMC premises to Kalsanka Royal Garden. The Rally Passed through Threveni circle, KSRTC Bus Stand, Service Bus-Stand, Kidyoor, Shiribeedu, City Bus-Stand and culminated at the Royal Garden. Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj flagged off the rally.

In his inaugural message Sri Laxmivaratheertha Swamiji said that the consumer fair will attract the people of Udupi as various products are exhibited here to enhance the lifestyle of people. The fair will also bring financial benefit to CMC, where the income could be used to develop the district. 'Let Udupi Utsav facilitate the needs of the people,' he added.

Udupi - Chikmagalur MP K Jayaprakash Hegde in his message said that Udupi Utsav should promote the culture of the temple town in the coming days.

Yuvraj, CMC President said that profit from the Udupi Utsav will be utilized for the development of the temple town.

The dignitaries then visited the various stalls and amusement park section.

Amrutha Krishnamurthy, Vice President CMC, Celine Karkada, Standing Committee President CMC, Srikanth Rao, Commissioner, Ramesh Kanchan, Prashanth Amin, Shantaram Salvankar, Prashanth Bhat, Gautam Agarwal and others were present.

Udupi Utsav has the complete family shopping and amusement package, it has over 100 stalls offering huge discounts and offers including automobiles, home appliances, furniture, kitchen appliances like chimneys and hobs, solar products, handlooms, handicrafts, dress material, fashion, footwear, health and fitness equipment, toys, books, stationery, foreign-made consumer goods (FMCG), food products, and many more products from all over India.

About 25 amusement rides including 3D Show, Dragon, Train, Italian Tora-Tora, Jumping Frog, Dashing Car, Aeroplane, Titanic, Horse Merry-go-rounds, Fish Merry-go-round etc. The entry timings for the exhibition is between 3 pm to 10 pm daily. The entry fee is Rs 35 per person.
