Kundapura: Man who Made Business out of Repeat Marriages Caught after Fourth Outing
Kundapura, 27 Jan 2014: The more the merrier - this seems to be this 45-year-old man's life's mission.
Munawar Hussain, from Murdeshwar, found it profitable to adopt this trade of getting married again and again, while suppressing information about previous ones. He married three girls in the past one by one, without divorcing earlier one on each occasion, and hiding the fact of his marital status. He also took money from the bride's family every time.
He first got married to a girl from Kushalnagar and had a child from her. Without her knowledge he got married to another from Bhatkal. His third adventure was by marrying yet another girl from Sirsi.
At 45, he approached a poor family from Byndoor through marriage brokers Rafiq and Shahul Hameed and sought their daughter's hand in marriage. The wedding took place on Jan 25 and they spent about Rs 2 lakh on the occasion.
But to their shock, the bridegroom was identified by some persons who had known him as an already married man. A complaint was filed with the police and he was arrested.
