Kundapura: Young cricketer Umesh Kharvi dies in a road accident
Kundapura/Bangalore OCT 27, 2013:
A Yong Cricketer Hailing from Kundapur was killed in a road accident in Bangalore on Sunday October 27.
The deceased has been identified as Umesh Kharvi (26), son of Kogga Kharvi and resident of Kharvi Keri, Kundapura.
According to sources, when Umesh was on his way home on his motorbike, he lost control and the bike hit the road divider, where he died on the spot.
A reputed cricketer, Umesh had played in several prestigious tournaments at junior national level including the under-17. He had represented Karnataka in the Under-17 in 2002 to 2004, South Zone Under-17 between 2002 and 2004, India Under-17 in 2003-04, Karnataka Under-22 in 2007-08.
He was also part of the Karnataka State Cricket Association XI. Umesh was a right-hand batsman and bowled medium pace.
