Udupi: 17 Achievers to get District Level Rajyotsava awards

Every year on November 1, the Udupi district administration recognizes citizens who have played a vital role in the development of the state in each sector or have represented the state or the nation.

The Udupi district administration has selected 17 personalities from different fields for the Udupi Zilla Rajyotsava award 2013.
They have been selected for the award for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields. Apart from 17 individuals, an organization too have been selected for the award. Deputy commissioner Dr M T Reju released the list of achievers on Thursday October 31.

They are:

1. Molahalli Hiriya Naik (Yakshagana),
2. Chandra Achar Haladi (Yakshagana),
3. Jayaram Acharya (Art and Kasta Shilpa),
4. Shirinivasa Prabhu Uppunda (Drama),
5. Ermalu Hidayuthulla Saheb (Music),
6. Dr Ramachandra Kamath (Medical),
7. Bhaskar Poojary (Medical Nativyadya),
8. S Janardhan ( Rural Development),
9. Astro Mohan (Photo Journalist),
10. Kiran Marshal (International Level Karate),
11. Kumari Keerthi Nairy (Throw Ball),
12. Shanker Kundar (Agriculture),
13. Kenchanoor Somashekar Shetty (Agriculture),
14. Remeidia D'Souza (Social Work),
15. Hurladi Raghuveer Shetty (Social Work),
16. B K Karanth (Music),
17. Dr B Jagadeesh Shetty (Research) and

Nidambooru Yuvaka Mandala is the organization selected under Social Work category.

Udupi district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake will honour 18 people with the District Rajyotsava Award 2013 at the M G M Grounds here on Friday November 1.
